Phyllis L (Martin)'s Story
Life
After graduating high school I served 6 1/2 years in the US Army and have been working as a civil servant ever since. I have lived the majority of my adult life in SE Oklahoma. My family loves animals and between all of us we are down to 2 dogs and two cats. I have three daughters: Heather is 42 married with a 9 year old son Conner Andrew and a 2 year old daughter Isabella CJ Heart and a stay at home mom. Kaelie is 40 with an amazing career and Ashley is 31 with a 9 year old daughter Willow Lea and 7 year old son Merrick Reed. our grandkids are amazing. Our girls are happy and healthy so I am fine. We just celebrated our 47th Anniversary February 2023. I retired from civil service August 31, 2018 with 39 years 6 months and 2 days. I am very close to my 5 brothers and sisters. My dad was my hero and the greatest man I ever knew. He passed away on July 27, 2006, 16 days after he turned 81. In February 2006 I m...Expand for more
oved to Washington DC and while there I spent a lot of time with my dad's brother, my Uncle Bill who passed away September 23, 2007. We lost our Mom on November 24, 2009, she is now with our Dad and they are both inurned at the Columbarium in Arlington National Cemetery. Family is everything to me and they will always come first. We lost our brother Danny on March 27, 2015 it was very devastating for all of us.
If I won $100 million, I'd give $42million of it to my brothers and sisters to split, then spend the rest on paying off my home, paying off all outstanding debt and invest the rest.
My father was and is my hero, he taught us to work hard, be honest and strive to be the best person you can. If you make a mistake you pull yourself up and correct the problem
My first job was at Eglin AFB NCO Club, where I got paid 1.25 ph to waitress. What I remember most about it is was the tips I earned and buying my first car.
